Cricket Etiquette
Law 25 Wide
Hint for umpire: Never call a wide when a batsman has hit the ball, no matter how wide the ball went. The ball must pass the batsman before calling it wide. A batsman may choose to chase a wide delivery and if the ball is hit, only the runs scored off the bat are counted.
