To all players, parents and friends,
Welcome to the 2017/18 Season for another year of cricket at the Ferny Fireballs.
Another great season of cricket awaits, with the Ashes back at Brisbane. Brisbane Heat sold out 5 matches at the Gabba last year, more popular than ever.
In April the club was awarded Highly Commended in the Community Cricket Club awards held by Cricket Australia; recognition for our inclusive and welcoming approach.
Again, the club is excited at the prospect of inspired young cricketers signing up for the Ferny Fireballs. Age groups from U8 through to U17 are catered for to play in the Brisbane North Junior Cricket Association (BNJCA) draws across the north of Brisbane from October to March. As well we host a great In2Cricket program for 5 to 7 year olds and T20 Blast on Thursday nights for those 8 to 12 year old girls and boys who aren't ready for the full cricket format.
Registrations have been quite strong with continued growth. The club uses the on-line MyCricket registration and payment process, however, club committee members will still be available to discuss playing cricket at the Fireballs. This proves to be an important introduction to the club for new families wanting to participate. Club committee members will be available at the Tramway St clubhouse on the Sign On days (see Sign Up tab).
In terms of fees we have found it necessary made a small increase in fees this year, however we are continuing to work hard to attract sponsors and identify suitable fund raising opportunities to keep fees as low as reasonable practical.
We trust the season is a great one for you and your friends, and look forward to seeing you around the grounds in the new season.
